2018 Chipper Days: Save the Date!

2018 Chipper Days: Save the Date!

Sleepy Hollow Fire Protection District will host 4 Chipper Days in 2018.  The first will be a "drop-off" event May 12.  Residents may bring material to the end of Butterfield Rd to be disposed of at no cost.  Assistance will be available on-site for residents with special needs.  Pick up service is available on a limited basis for elderly residents - inquire on-site April 12.

Door-to-door pick up Chipper Days will be held June 9-10, 2018 and July 14-15, 2018 (online registration required beginning 30 days prior - www.shfpd.org/chipper).  The door-to-door pick ups are scheduled to coincide with the Fire Department's annual Defensible Space inspection program.

WHAT WILL THE CREWS REMOVE?

All material disposed must be from Sleepy Hollow.  ID may be required for drop-off.  If your gardener is hauling the material, please plan to go with them to the chipper station.

For Door-to-door pick ups, chipper crews will dispose of up to 5 yards of cut vegetation at no cost (approximately 4'x4'x8', stacked).  Larger quantities must be pre-approved.  This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. for instructions.

Crews will dispose of larger materials that won't fit in your green waste cans (1"-6" diameter limbs, brush, branches, etc).  Grass clippings, loose leaves, soft vegetation can't be chipped and must be disposed of in your green waste cans.
